India stands up against GE food crop!

India has taken a huge step in creating more sustainable agricultural practices, which is clearly shown in their fight against genetically engineered (GE) crops! After India's Genetic Engineering Approval Committee gave GE crops the thumbs up, it has been met by national voices disapproving these crops. Citizens, farmers and various groups have participated in a day of fasting, while others have dressed up as eggplants at meetings to discuss these crops. The full article can be found here, on Greenpeace's website and thanks to Sarah sending it in!

Addicted to Plastic

This past Wednesday, the EcoHawks screened the documentary Addicted to Plastic. It was an awesome movie and was really informative. It gave a great history of plastic and showed how it is a huge part of our lives, it's in pretty much everything! The documentary also showcased the implications plastic has on the environment, wildlife and humans, as well as new plastics that have very interesting features! If you have the time, definitely give it a watch, the trailer can be found below!

Thank-you to everyone who came and stay posted for our other exciting events!
